Tunability in Graphene Based Metamaterial Absorber Structures in Mid-Infrared Region

Tunable conductivity of graphene, makes it a promising material for metamaterials. There are various graphene tunable metamaterial absorbers in the mid-infrared region, whose absorption spectrum can be dynamically tuned by varying Fermi potential graphene. However, working low region (4–7 μm) has limited tuning. In this work, spectral tuning efficiency based metal disc pattern and ribbon absorber is studied using FDTD simulation. The tunability achieved 2–4%, which increased to 5–20% with more than 85% rate. Thus, significantly improves provides broad 4–7 μm wavelength range. polarization dependent due its non-symmetric shape. Hence, new type nano square hole (NSH) proposed, easily externally biased provide independent absorption. NSH wide high rate similar absorber. These results very helpful design sensors multispectral devices gas sensor biosensor applications.
